Registration

Register through our online registration system, Campwise.
Registrations are NOT accepted
Friday-Sunday prior to the session start date.

Fees

A $100 deposit per camp is due at the time of registration.
The cost of programs vary and can be found on the weekly grids and in the program descriptions.
You may opt for payment plans at the time of registration. Pay plans will be set up in equal payments to be fully paid by June 1, 2026 and charged automatically to the credit card on file.
If your camp balance exceeds $2,000, you will automatically be enrolled in a payment plan unless you contact the camp office to make other arrangements.
From June 1 forward, fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.
Campers with an outstanding balance will not be permitted to attend Summer at the Academy.
Visa, American Express, MasterCard, and Discover are accepted.

Refunds

A refund will not be given unless requested in writing two weeks prior to the opening date of the sessions(s) for which your camper is enrolled.
- Cancellations prior to May 29: 75% of the per camp deposit is non-refundable.
- Cancellations on or after May 29: camp deposit is non-refundable.
No refund will be given for a camper dismissed due to disciplinary action.
Camp fees will not be prorated for illness or other reasons a camper is unable to attend the full week(s).
All camps and course offerings are subject to maximum and minimum enrollments and under-enrolled programs may be cancelled.

Required Documents

Please refer to the flowchart below for a step-by-step guide on which documents are required. Please note all physicals are due by Monday, May 11, 2026, and can be uploaded in Campwise. If your child’s physical expires prior to their registered camp week(s), a new/current physical (along with immunizations) must be submitted prior to their arrival on campus.

Swimming

Swimming Pool

The pool at Norfolk Academy is 4 ft. to 13 ft. with the shallow end clearly marked by a rope down the center. The pool is used for both swimming lessons and free swim periods.

Most camps include a swim period so campers should pack a swim suit and towel daily, but please refer to the program descriptions for confirmation about swim time.
The pool staff consists of certified lifeguards and instructors. Lifeguards will review the pool rules at the start of each week.
Swim tests are only given to those campers that would like to swim (or dive) in the deep end. This test is not required! The swim test consists of swimming 1 length of the pool comfortably without stopping.
We encourage all new swimmers OR swimmers that are not able to touch the bottom of the shallow end to wear a life jacket. The lifeguards will help campers secure the lifejacket before getting into the water. Parents may send in “wings” or their child’s own lifejacket. Please make sure all property is clearly marked.

Lunch

Lunch is included in ALL camp registrations.
Campers may bring a bagged lunch or eat a hot lunch in our Refectory.
Lunch service includes an entrée, side, dessert, and drink. We also have a deli bar and a fruit and yogurt bar.
The Summer lunch menu will be available online prior to the first day of camp.
All half-day camps eat lunch from 11:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
If your child has food allergies or a specific diet, please provide that information on the health intake form during registration.

Clothing

Summer at the Academy Camp T-shirt

Each camper will receive one T-shirt with his or her summer registration. Please indicate size preference on the application.

Dress requirements

All clothes and equipment should be labeled with your camper’s name.
Athletic shoes are required for both indoor and outdoor activities. NO Flip flops, open-toed shoes, Crocs, and other shoes not secured to the feet, please.
Most camps include a swim period so campers should pack a swim suit and towel daily, but please read program descriptions to confirm.

LOST & FOUND

Found items are held for two weeks. Items remaining longer than two weeks will be donated.

Norfolk Academy is not responsible for any items lost while participating in summer camps.

Field Trips

Some of our programs include day trips to off-campus sites as noted in the program descriptions. By signing the online camp registration form you authorize your child to participate in sponsored field trips and to travel in Norfolk Academy owned or contracted vehicles.

Bus Conduct Rules

No fighting, swearing, or abusive behavior.
Children must remain seated with seat belts (when available) at all times.
Children must not have any part of their bodies out of the vehicle.
No eating or drinking in the vehicles.
Potentially dangerous actions will not be tolerated.

Half Day Camps

Transportation and Drop-off/Pick-up

Bus Transportation

No additional cost! Pre-registration is required.
Bus service is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Routes and capacity are limited.
Mid-day transportation is not provided.
All campers under the age of 11 must be met at the bus by an adult.
Permission to walk from the bus stop must be submitted in writing for children older than 11.
Campers should be at bus stops and out of their cars at least 5 minutes before scheduled times.

Carpool Procedures

Carpool

Morning Drop Off:

Drop off curbside between 8:35 a.m. and 8:55 a.m.
Please remain in your car and follow signage and directions of staff and security personnel.

Afternoon Pick Up (Full day camps):

Campers should be picked up no later than 3:15 p.m.
There are two pick up lines sorted alphabetically:
- Campers with last names A-L will be picked up curbside in the right hand lane.
- Campers with last names M-Z will be picked up curbside in the left hand lane.
Please remain in your car and follow signage and directions of staff and security personnel.
After 3:20 p.m. campers will be supervised in our After Camp Program and a fee of $18.00 may be assessed.

SPECIAL PICK-UP DURING CAMP HOURS

We appreciate advance notification when a parent/guardian wishes to pick up a camper during camp hours.
Any child leaving camp during camp hours must be signed out by the parent/guardian at the Summer at the Academy office.

DASHBOARD CARDS

Every registered camper will receive a card for campus access and carpool coordination. Please place it on your vehicle dashboard so it is EASILY VISIBLE to our staff.
Each card is printed with camper’s last name and camp(s) so please display on the dashboard to facilitate a smooth dismissal and entry onto campus.

Half-day Camp Transportation

Half-Day Camps Transportation

Midday transportation is NOT available.
- Morning half-day campers must provide their own transportation for pick up at 12:15 p.m.
- Afternoon half-day campers must provide their own transportation for drop off at 11:45 a.m.
Half-day campers may utilize the morning and afternoon bus transportation.

Both morning and afternoon half-day camps include lunch from 11:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Camp Add-Ons

Swim Academy

SWIM ACADEMY for Grades K-6

Cost: $110

Swim Academy and Stroke Development is a 45-minute swimming program offered Monday-Friday for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers. We will focus on the basics of floating and water exploration, to competitive stroke techniques including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, starts, and turns. Students will be grouped according to skill level. Swim instructors will give in-water instruction and are certified American Red Cross Lifeguards. Lesson plans are based on Norfolk Academy’s Lower School swimming curriculum. Participants in Swim Academy must be registered for a camp the same week they are registered for Swim Academy.

After Camp Swim Academy: 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Campers attending After Camp Swim Academy will be escorted to the pool.
Campers can be picked up curbside in front of the Lower School at 4:00 p.m. or can be taken to our supervised aftercare (additional fee).

Extended Care

This program is a service provided for parents requiring extended care for their children offering quality supervision before camp and after camp hours.

Parents/guardians must sign their children in and out each day using the Procare Registration System. New users will be directed to create an account.

BEFORE CAMP CARE (MORNING)

Before Camp attendees must be registered for either a full-day camp, or a morning camp the same week they are registered to attend Before Camp Care. Our Extended Care staff will take campers to their camp at 9:00 a.m.
Parents are encouraged to send a morning snack with their campers.

AFTER CAMP CARE (AFTERNOON)

After Camp attendees must be registered for either a full-day camp, or an afternoon camp the same week they are registered to attend After Camp Care. Our Extended Care staff will take campers to After Care following afternoon camp dismissal.
A snack is provided in the afternoon.

AFTER SWIM ACADEMY CARE (AFTERNOON)

After Swim Academy Care is available if your camper is attending Swim Academy following camp. Our Swim Academy staff will take your camper to After Camp Care.
