Reflections on Learning
My best classroom experiences all stem from the learning environments created by my teachers. I remember being mesmerized by Mr. Horstman’s war stories, frightened and then proud of impromptu speeches in Mrs. Hopkins’ class, intrigued and wide awake in Mr. Acra’s story-like history lessons, and excited to step in Dr. Kidd’s classroom and have thought-provoking discussions.

Inspirational Teacher Coach
Mr. McMahon helped me to develop my leadership skills and pushed me every step of the way in my insecurities about life after Norfolk Academy, especially college. He was confident in my decision-making and my potential even when I was not. The one thing I love most about Mr. McMahon is his unwavering support and confidence in me.

Making My Mark
I hope that our field hockey team will influence future bulldogs! I am very thankful for the sport that has given me so much and the opportunity to play it with my best friends and my coach who I have known since first grade. I hope not only our team accomplishments but also the fact that we achieved what we did as friends will have an impact on Norfolk Academy.

Looking Ahead
I hope to study a subject pertaining to public health or medicine in college. I participated in the Global Health Fellows Program in which I was introduced to experts and topics which interest me. I was also a member of the Norfolk Academy Medical Scholars Program in which I observed surgeries and hospitals.

The thing that most makes me a Bulldog is…my relationships with teachers and classmates and my sense of community involvement through which I have learned more about myself and made an impact outside of Norfolk Academy!
