Most Meaningful Activity Model UN and the International Relations Club. Model UN allowed me to hone my debating skills, chair school-wide conferences, and represent NA at annual regional conferences. I’ve loved the opportunities afforded by the International Relations Club because they helped me find new ways to express myself efficiently and eloquently.
Reflections on Learning After spending months reading the works of Nietzsche, Camus, and more, we were finally tasked with creating our own stories to showcase philosophical ideas of our own or ones we had learned about in the course Sharing these flash fiction pieces in Dr. Kidd’s Philosophical Literature class was truly one of the most enjoyable academic experiences I’ve had.
Inspirational Teacher Coach Ms. Hume makes you a better writer and a better person. Having her as my advisor also meant that she helped me through any problems I had throughout my three years in the Upper School. Her insight, experience, and sense of humor made her a wonderful advisor and teacher.
The Academy Difference I have spent the majority of my years in school at Norfolk Academy. It has shaped me so much and helped me become a better writer and better conversationalist, not to mention provided me with incredible teachers and friendships.
Looking Ahead So many of Norfolk Academy’s teachers could be teaching college classes and instead they choose to spend their time here teaching us. As students, we receive tastes of a college education from much younger ages and that increases our excitement for knowledge.
