Most Meaningful Activity
CCGL Chesapeake Bay Fellows.
Through these four years, I developed intrinsic motivation. In Fellows, we don’t get grades and we don’t get a report card, but we work harder than in any class to make sure that we have a positive impact on the community.

Inspirational Teacher Coach
I have danced with Mr. Watson, our incredibly talented dance choreographer, since third grade, making him a constant for me as I travelled from the Lower School all the way to the Upper School. He teaches us about more than dance and technique; he teaches us about life through movement, about leadership, and pushes us to be the best in whatever we are pursuing.

Looking Back
In second grade I couldn’t reach the playground zip line because of my height. One day, I took a chair outside so that I could reach and play with my classmates. Upon seeing how I solved the problem, Mrs. Smack dubbed me “Determined Deni.” I continue to use that motivation to push through all of my endeavors to achieve the best possible results.

Looking Ahead
I opened iMovie for the first time to document the “Beauty Project” in my eighth grade Ancient History class. I haven’t stopped making videos since! In the fall, I will attend Boston University as a film major in its College of Communications.

The thing that most makes me a Bulldog is… my passion to learn and my appreciation for honor. Norfolk Academy sustains an environment where honor and dignity stand shoulder to shoulder with earning top grades and where doing the right thing is as expected as turning in homework. This has shaped who I am since first grade and will continue to impact me for the rest of my life.
