How long have you been at Norfolk Academy?
This will be my eighth year teaching at Norfolk Academy.
Tell us why you wanted to become an educator:
Teaching has always been my favorite part of being an historian because I think that both are fundamentally an exercise in the art of asking questions. I always tell my students that my job isn’t to teach them what to think, but rather how to think.
What most excites you about working at Norfolk Academy?
I get to work with extraordinary people – both students and colleagues – who are always willing to challenge each other and to be challenged in turn.

What do you like to do in your own time/when you’re not working?
