How long have you been at Norfolk Academy?
I have been at Norfolk Academy for 17 years.

Tell us why you wanted to become an educator:
I taught my first class as a teaching assistant at the University of Colorado. It was a joy sharing my love of mathematics with students.

What most excites you about working at Norfolk Academy?
THE STUDENTS. They are curious and appreciate the time we spend with them.

Last book read:
We Were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter. It is based on the lives of a real family. They are Jewish and lived in Poland at the beginning of World War II.

What do you like to do in your own time/when you’re not working?
I love bike riding, traveling, reading, and spending time on the beach. I’m also taking an online statistics class and really enjoying being a student again.

Favorite food?
Hmm. That’s a toss-up between steak or chocolate.

A movie is being made about your life. Who would they cast to play you?
I’ve always loved Meryl Streep.

Fun fact your students might not know about you/might find surprising:
I grew up camping, hiking, skiing, biking, swimming, playing tennis, etc. I love outdoor activities.

“When I grow up, I want to be…”
...an outdoor tour guide and travel all over the world.
