How long have you been at Norfolk Academy?
This is my sixth year at Norfolk Academy.
Tell us why you wanted to become an educator:
...because I couldn’t imagine doing anything else!
What most excites you about working at Norfolk Academy?
My students! They bring energy, excitement and an enthusiastic love of learning with them to school every single day. I do not consider teaching “work.” How could I consider spending every day surrounded by creative, loving, motivated children work?
Norfolk Academy is unique because…
...I get to spend my days in an environment filled with school spirit and collaborate with amazing colleagues who are eager to share ideas and grow together as professional educators.
Last book read:
Commonwealth by Ann PatchettWhat do you like to do in your own time/when you’re not working?
In my free time I enjoy watching my son play soccer and my daughter dance, taking long walks with my husband on the beach, reading, visiting the local farmers market, and trying out new recipes.
Sweet treats and a hot cup of dark roast coffee, and/or Maine lobster rolls.
Fun fact your students might not know about you/might find surprising:
I won first place in an elementary school science competition for the unique display of bugs I hand-collected in the field behind my Connecticut childhood home. Believe it or not, this display is still in my parents’ basement today!
“When I grow up, I want to be…”
...living in a small cozy cottage by the bay watching the sun rise and set each day surrounded by people I love, delicious food, and good books. I have also always dreamed of running my own bed and breakfast somewhere in New England.
