  • Music

The music department at Norfolk Academy strives to engender an appreciation and understanding of different forms of musical expression in all our students.   We provide a wide range of opportunities for students in all divisions to learn, enjoy, and perform.

In the Lower School, there is a general music curriculum for grades 1-6.  Seventh grade students participate in a Music Appreciation course.  Beginning and Advanced Music Theory are optional electives available to Upper School students.

In addition to annual Winter and Spring concerts, musicians are integrated into the life of the school through performances at Fine Arts Days, Field Day, awards ceremonies, sporting events, and graduation exercises. Students have the opportunity to perform outside of school by participating in District and Regional chorus, band and orchestra events.
