Liam Sullivan '23, who is excelling on Yale University's cross country and track and field teams, was honored in December for his successes.
Sullivan received the cross country Coaches Award, given to the person who embodies team values and has shown excellent improvement across the season.
“Sullivan is an excellent recipient, never going a day where he isn't supporting his teammates and striving to get better himself," the school said in announcing the award.
Sullivan opened his season in a meet against Harvard University, running a 6k personal record. He finished a strong 30th overall at At the Codfish Bowl, and at the IC4A Championships, set another personal record in an 8k with a time of 27:03.
Among Sullivan's other activities at the Ivy League school, he is in ROTC and the Yale Undergraduate Diversified Investment Club. He also tutors English to students in South Korea and, continuing a love he found in the Batten Leadership Program, has remained an aquaponics enthusiast.
“His work ethic is second to none and something that inspires many other Bulldogs," the school said.
