WTKR-TV Celebrates National Champion Shot Putter Chance Stuart '25

Chance Stuart '25 has made the news a lot lately because of his success all around the track and field world.

During the winter season, Chance tore up the school record books, earning TCIS conference and VISAA state titles along the way. He closed the season with a national championship, with a toss of 58 feet, 9.5 inches.

Chance will compete at Lehigh University, where he plans to major in mechanical engineering.

For teacher-coach Patrick Fernando '93, who coaches track and field, Chance's talents stand out, but his dedication to team impresses even more.

Fernando says the program will remember him for those things and so much more.

“Chance is a program lifter, someone who not just our throws program, but our whole track and cross country program will stand on the shoulders of Chance for the rest of its existence."
