Valentina O'Brien joins the NA family as a fourth grade teacher, bringing 18 years of teaching experience. She has taught a number of elementary-level grades, in many different settings, including in a Math and Science Academy and a Dual Language Spanish Immersion program.

Why did you want to become a teacher?
I became a teacher because I love sparking curiosity and helping children realize how much they’re capable of.

What excites you about Norfolk Academy?
Everyone’s energy here is contagious. I can’t wait to join a community that loves learning and relationships just as much as I do.

What's one fun fact about you students might find interesting?
My family is from Lima, Peru, so I grew up speaking Spanish and English and I have lots of fun stories from my travels there!
