Natalie Holder joined the Norfolk Academy family in summer 2025 as the head coach for varsity field hockey. She also will teach Physical Education.  

Holder comes to NA from Old Dominion University, where she was the Associate Head Field Hockey Coach from 2012-25. Before that, she was an assistant coach at Syracuse University and Christopher Newport University. Throughout her career, she has coached teams that have won conference and tournament championships and has made a Final Four appearance. In addition, throughout her career, she has directed and coached youth field hockey camps for beginners, created curriculums and run high school camps, and coached USA National events.

Why did you want to become a teacher/coach?
I want to be a positive influence in young lives both on and off the field. To make an impact in their day to day and teach sports and  field hockey, those are some of my greatest passions. 

What excites you about Norfolk Academy?
The tradition of excellence at Norfolk Academy both in academics and athletics. I am excited to work with both the younger athletes during the day in my Lower School Physical Education classes and the varsity athletes on the field hockey field, to inspire, teach and challenge them to grow each day. 

What's one fun fact about you students might find interesting?
Born and raised in Scotland and just became an American citizen on July 4, 2025!
