Jcori Shaw fully joins the Bulldog family as a Middle School Teaching Associate and Coach. Jcori is a native of Elizabeth City, N.C., where he excelled both in the classroom and on the athletics fields. He became a stellar student-athlete at Hampton University, where he started 27 games on the offensive line for the Pirates' football team. Following his playing career, he began coaching and training athletes of all ages, including at NA, where he coaches football, girls basketball, and baseball.

In the coming weeks, Norfolk Academy will introduce new faculty and staff to our family with biographies and a quick Q&A session. These introductions also are viewable on Norfolk Academy's Instagram page.

Why teach?
I chose a career in education because I believe the greatest impact you can have is on the next generation. As a coach and former student-athlete, I've experienced firsthand how influential teachers and coaches can be in shaping a young person's confidence, work ethic, and character. I wanted to be that same positive influence for others.

Why NA?
The most exciting part about working at NA is being a part of the amazing family. Everyone at NA is amazing and I can't wait to be surrounded around these people.
