Welcome Alyssa Beyrodt, NA's new Lower School Strings and Orchestra Teacher, and coordinator of our new Fine Arts Instagram page. Mrs. Beyrodt holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Old Dominion University. Before joining the NA family, she taught private violin and piano lessons for several years. An accomplished violinist and vocalist in her own right, she has headlined major performance venues such as the NorVa and Virginia Beach Amphitheater, and recorded with a variety of artists.

Why did you want to become a teacher?
I became a teacher because I love helping children discover their unique gifts, and music has always been the way I’ve connected most deeply with others. Guiding young musicians as they grow in confidence and creativity brings me so much joy.

What excites you about Norfolk Academy?
Norfolk Academy excites me because of its vibrant sense of community and its deep commitment to nurturing the whole child. I’m honored to be part of a school where curiosity, character, and the arts are so highly valued.

What's one fun fact about you students might find interesting?
I secretly wish life were a musical so people would break into song more often.
