Wilson

Things went swimmingly over the summer for two Norfolk Academy alumni who qualified for the 2024 U.S. Olympic trials.

Callie Dickinson '18 and Kayla Wilson '22, who both helped the Bulldog swim program thrive during their years at NA, qualified. Dickinson, a 2022 graduate of the University of Georgia, qualified in the 100-meter butterfly, 200 butterfly and 200 individual medley. Wilson, who attends Stanford, qualified in the 100 and 200 freestyles.

This was not the only recent success for Dickinson. She was the 2022-23 Southeastern Conference H. Boyd McWhorter Women’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year, which brings with it a $20,000 postgraduate scholarship. She also won a $10,000 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. She also served as a captain for U.S. swimmers competing in the World University Games held over the summer in China.

Dickinson is on track to earn a master's degree from Georgia this year in Comparative Biomedical Sciences. She plans to attend medical school. In addition to qualifying for the NCAA Championships in all five of her seasons at Georgia, she was a Scholar All-American and made the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll in all five seasons.

The 2024 U.S. Olympic trials will be held next June in Indianapolis. The Olympic Games are later that summer in Paris.
