Two Norfolk Academy alumni earned spots on a much-anticipated annual list of Hampton Roads' young success stories.
Randall Crutchfield '05 and Cole Werkheiser '09 both made the Inside Business Top 40 Under 40. The list, published in October, highlights professionals younger than 40 years old who are successful in their careers and involved in the community.
Mr. Crutchfield is director of procurement at Colonna’s Shipyard. He also volunteers as treasurer on the board at Saint Mary’s Home for Disabled Children and is a member of the home's Foundation Board. He also serves on the Board of Governors for the Propeller Club, Port of Norfolk, and as a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Foundation’s NextGen Board.
His advice for young people: “Find alignment between hard work and your personal inspiration."
At age 30, Mr. Werkheiser is one of the youngest members of the list. He is a sales and leasing associate with Pembroke Realty Group. He also volunteers on the boards of three nonprofit organizations: ViBe Creative District, Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities, and Hampton Roads Pride. He has served as president of Hampton Roads Pride since 2018.
His advice for young people: “Always be learning, and complete as many internships as you can while you are in college!"
