Spring Athletics Recap: State Title For Girls Soccer And Many More Achievements

Norfolk Academy's varsity girls soccer team won a VISAA state championship on May 16!

The Bulldogs defeated Trinity Christian 4-1, bringing home the girls soccer program's first state title since 2011. The team won its final 16 games, going undefeated in April and May.

That was not the lone achievement in spring for NA:

  • Track and Field individual state championships
  • 6 TCIS team championships (boys lacrosse, girls lacrosse, boys track, girls track, boys tennis, girls soccer)
  • 4 TCIS Coach of the Year awards (and Rich Peccie was VISAA Coach of the Year for girls soccer)

But NA athletics is about more than victories and trophies. Said Director of Athletics Chad Byler: "At Norfolk Academy athletics is more than wins and losses, it's about who you are and how you treat people around you. It's about showing up every day with heart, being a great teammate, giving your best effort, and carrying yourself with toughness, commitment, respect, and spirit."
