PAWS

Middle School students on October 24 began their PAWS for a Cause projects for this school year.

PAWS is a longstanding Middle School project that has been expanded this year. In the past, students devoted one day to going into the community to engage with partners in various service projects. Starting this year, students will make multiple trips to help these partners, also gaining a better understanding of the important work they do and considering ways in which they can help in the future.

On October 24, students did a little bit of everything. Among their more than a dozen projects, they beautified grounds at various places of nature including the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk and Brock Environmental Center in Virginia Beach; mentored students at Point O' View Elementary School in Virginia Beach; and cheered up children at CHKD.

Norfolk Academy is appreciative of all our partners in this project and the learning they provide:

  • Brock Environmental Center
  • CHKD Mental Hospital
  • Chrysler Museum
  • CROP
  • Equi-Kids
  • Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia & The Eastern Shore
  • ForKids
  • Habitat for Humanity-Eastern Shore
  • MOCA
  • Norfolk Botanical Garden
  • Operation Smile
  • Point O’ View Elementary School
