Norfolk State University's Concert Choir delivered two stirring performances on Tuesday, January 30, for Middle and Upper School students.

Dr. Harlan Zackery Jr., Director of Choral Activities, is conductor of the Concert Choir, and Mr. Terry Butler is Assistant Director. The choir has performed in concerts at The White House, Washington National Cathedral, the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, and many more historic venues over the past 75 years.

The choir's visit has become an annual treat in recent years, usually around the start of Black History Month in February. In addition to providing awe-inspiring sounds, this visit taught our students about musical history and genres, particularly gospel and African American spiritual.

It also gave our young musicians something to aspire to, as NSU students Evan Thomas and Kayla Fontenot directed the final two songs.
