Tell us why you wanted to work in education:
I enjoy the energy and excitement that the students bring to the campus.
What most excites you about working at Norfolk Academy?
It is wonderful to have the opportunity to work in a community built on trust and honesty.
Norfolk Academy is unique because…
both teachers and students treat each other with respect.
Last book read:
I just finished The Martian by Andy Weir. My son selected it as one of his summer reading books, and he couldn’t put it down, so I had to give it a try! I really enjoyed it. I rarely read science fiction, so it was a nice change of pace. It had a good dose of humor, too.
What do you like to do in your own time/when you’re not working?
I love to be outside! Most especially, I love to go to the beach, but I also enjoy running, hiking, and camping. My other favorite activities include reading, playing cards, grilling in the backyard, and cooking meals for my family.
Favorite food?
I love all seafood! Steamed blue crabs are my favorite, but I don’t get them often. I also adore ice cream.
A movie is being made about your life. Who would they cast to play you?
I might have to pass on this question. While I enjoy a good movie, I am fairly clueless when it comes to knowing actors and actresses.
Fun fact students might find surprising:
I have a goal of visiting all 50 states. I only have Oregon, North Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, and Rhode Island left on my list.
