Michelle LaVigne joins our Lower School faculty this year as a Teaching Associate after having served as a substitute teacher last year; she will work with the second grade team. She grew up in Virginia Beach, attending college at the University of Virginia. She previously worked for several years as a Teaching Assistant at Old Donation Episcopal Day School after having spent eight years on the staff at The Governor’s School for the Arts.
Tell us why you wanted to become an educator:
The opportunity to inspire students and have a lifelong impact on them is my motivation.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, yoga, and going to the beach.

Tina Fey. She is not only a University of Virginia graduate with a good sense of humor, but also a cheese connoisseur.

I have been a dancer since I was 3 years old and continue to occasionally take classes.
