Tell us why you wanted to become an educator:
I've always loved the idea of shaping young minds. I've not only wanted to teach children concepts but help them gain confidence as they grow and learn. I love when I see lightbulbs come on in students' minds when they've finally put it all together!

What most excites you about working at Norfolk Academy?
The faculty, staff, and students get me excited about working at Norfolk Academy! Everyone has been inviting, cooperative, and collaborative.

Norfolk Academy is unique because:
I love the philosophy at NA! We are helping students develop maturity of body, mind, and character and understand how to become leaders and responsible citizens. This philosophy is something I have always instilled in my classroom, and I love that it is one that an entire school facilitates and fosters.

Last book read:
Atomic Habits by James Clear. Though if I'm honest, the very last book I've read was the children's book Anna and the Magic Coat 🤣

What do you like to do in your own time/when you're not working?
Spend time with my family.

Favorite food?
Steak, though I rarely eat it.

A movie is being made about your life. Who would they cast to play you?
Jennifer Lawrence because she is clumsy and able to laugh at herself.

Fun fact your students might find surprising:
I've lived in Japan twice. I've landed on and launched off of an aircraft carrier out at sea. I'm married to the luckiest man on earth. No, seriously, he wins things all the time!

"When I grow up, I want to be..."
I'm already doing it, and I'm so fortunate to get to be here and do what I love each day!
