New Faculty Spotlight: Katie Roberts

Katie Roberts begins in 2019-20 as a Lower School physical education teacher and head crew coach.

Academic background:
B.S., Brock University
M.Ed., Old Dominion University

Additional experience:
Ms. Roberts earned her bachelor’s degree in sports management and her master’s in physical education. An accomplished rower, she has coached Norfolk Academy’s boys and girls rowing teams in the past. She was also an assistant women’s rowing coach at William Smith College and later the University of Rhode Island, and worked in athletic administration at St. George’s School in Newport, Rhode Island.

Tell us why you wanted to become an educator:
I want to become a physical educator to inspire children to pursue sports and fitness.

What most excites you about working at Norfolk Academy?
I am part of school that has a large impact on the development of its students.

Last book read:
Bias by Jennifer Eberhardt.

What do you like to do in your own time/when you’re not working?
Cooking for my family, walking our dog Charlie, and to be honest, I love to shop!

Pizza.

I am Canadian born to British parents.
