Kathleen Locke begins in 2020-21 as a Lower School Teaching Associate.

Additional experience:
Mrs. Locke earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science at Virginia Tech. She then began her career at Landmark Communications as an Instructional Technology assistant. She went on to work at the University of Virginia Enrichment, organizing summer camp and other programs for gifted students. She began her time in the classroom as a fourth grade teacher at Greer Elementary in Charlottesville while pursuing a Master of Arts degree in teaching from Mary Baldwin, before moving to the Tidewater area to continue her work in education. She taught at the Williams School as a Resource Teacher for four years before becoming the owner and general manager of the School of Rock. Most recently, she served as the Program and Volunteer Manager at Tidewater Arts Outreach.
Tell us why you wanted to become an educator:
I have always enjoyed the energy surrounding children, and I love breaking down difficult concepts into simpler ideas.
