Mrs. Chesson joins Norfolk Academy in 2021-22 as a second grade teacher. A graduate of James Madison University, she comes to us from the Williams School, where she taught fourth and fifth grades and held a key academic administrative post, Lower School Director. She has more than 20 years of teaching experience across elementary grades and in public and private school settings.
Tell us why you wanted to become an educator:
I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. Every day is an adventure and I think it is the most fun and fulfilling career in the world!

I love to read, play tennis, go to the beach, and watch my sons play sports.

I'm not sure. Maybe Julianne Moore because of the freckles?

I'm a student, too. I am working towards my graduate degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Virginia.
