Ms. Johnson joins the Norfolk Academy family as a Teaching Associate for the first grade. She also will coach three seasons in our athletics department.
Ms. Johnson was a Kinesiology major at Longwood University and is a Sport Leadership graduate degree holder from Virginia Commonwealth University. During her time at Longwood, she was a leader on the women's lacrosse team as a three-year starter and captain, and also served as a Fitness Supervisor, Performance Coach, and Student Wellness Ambassador. While a graduate student at Virginia Commonwealth, she served as an assistant coach for the women’s lacrosse team at Randolph-Macon College.
Tell us why you wanted to become an educator:
Working with children is a true passion of mine. I love the energy and excitement within a school and on the athletic fields. Watching and helping young people grow is such a wonderful experience!
What most excites you about working at Norfolk Academy?
The food! Just kidding, the people of course! Every individual who makes up Norfolk Academy is deeply connected to the mission and objectives in such a special way. It is so exciting to be surrounded by such driven individuals.
