Norfolk Academy's music program is growing by leaps and bounds, as was on full display at the Middle and Upper School Winter Concerts.

More than 100 students performed during the Middle School concert on December 5, which highlighted the talents of the band, chorus, and orchestra. They all gathered onstage for a final number, Skyfall, by renowned singer-songwriter Adele.

The night also was the debut of the Honors Band. A new initiative this year, the group draws from students in the orchestra and band. Students are given the chance to audition, with the expectation that the material presented will be at an advanced level.

Directors Jordon Crichlow and Anna Meadows led the 7th, 8th, and 9th graders who starred in Johnson Theater.

On December 11, more than 50 students took part in the Upper School concert, which also involved the band, chorus, and orchestra.

Both these shows are available for viewing and listening on the Fine Arts NA-TV channel.

The winter fun isn't done yet. The Lower School Concert is at 9 a.m. on December 20. Like the first two, this show is free and open to all.
