Congratulations to Mia Jones '27, who was honored as WVEC-TV's latest Athlete of the Week!

WVEC aired its segment on Mia on Thursday night. It highlighted that she is not just a star on the field hockey turf but a leader within the team ranks.

Norfolk Academy has won two straight VISAA state championships, thanks in part to Mia. She made first-team all-state in 2024, scoring 18 goals with 15 assists. This fall, she’s again a key contributor as the Bulldogs seek a third straight state title.

“A lot of us have been here for a long time,” Mia told WVEC. “We all know each other so well, and we all have fun together.”

Quiet by nature, Mia is working hard to be a more vocal leader as well.

“We have a lot of new people coming in, so it’s just important to all be on the same page,” she said.
