Why did you want to become a teacher?
I love teaching because I enjoy helping students through the learning process. Learning is messy and complicated and frustrating but it is also incredible to witness! I value the moments when I can see the gears turning in my students’ minds.
What excites you about Norfolk Academy?
I’m amazed by how motivated the students are here. They will find you to ask that clarifying question, and they won’t leave until they understand the answer. I can only attribute that dedication to the example set by their teachers here at NA!
What's one fun fact about you students might find interesting?
I feel like my students already know most fun facts about me…but here’s a lesser-known one: I learned to play the organ in college and a lifelong dream of mine is to play on the Great Stalacpipe Organ inside the Luray Caverns!
