Barry

Norfolk Academy's family appears prominently in this year's Inside Business Power List, highlighting members of the Hampton Roads community who boost the region.

Among those included are alumni, trustees, and past trustees, as well as scores of parents, grandparents, and other connections. There are three sections to the list: Top 25; Next 75; and Emeritus.

In the top 25: Richard Barry III, a past trustee who along with wife Carolyn Barry funded the Barry Art Museum at Old Dominion University and is now supporting its expansion, and Doug Smith '80, who leads the Hampton Roads Alliance, an organization focused on attracting new companies and investment to the region.

Also on the list: Trustee Brian Holland, founder and CEO of Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group; C. Brother Rutter '82, managing partner of the Rutter Mills law firm; Trustee Michael Creedon, CEO of Chesapeake-based Dollar Tree; Randall Crutchfield '05, chairman and chief executive of Colonna’s Shipyard; and Past Trustee Robin Ray, chairman of the Hoffman Beverage Company.

There are also many Bulldogs on the Emeritus List of longtime community shapers.
