Lower School students went off to see the wizard in April, as they performed their annual Dance Concert. 

Directed by Dance Master Elbert Watson and Teacher-Coach Suzy Gunn '01, this year's concert was titled All Things Oz. The show drew from the many film and stage hits related to the classic novel, published in 1900, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum.

The show's many dance numbers featured music from the cinematic classic, The Wizard of Oz (1939), starring Judy Garland; the 1978 film, The Wiz, starring Diana Ross and Michael Jackson, which was adapted from a 1974 Broadway musical; and most recently,  Wicked, also a massive Broadway hit that premiered in 2003 and is still playing, which spawned a two-part movie in 2024.

Students in second through sixth grade performed, almost 100 boys and girls all together. In all, there were 14 performances. Some involved ballet, some jazz music, and some had their own creative dances. 

Lower School students received regular dance lessons during the school day. Watson teaches fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. Gunn teaches first, second, and third grades.
