As Bulldogs gear up for March Madness, the start of the NCAA basketball tournaments, they have one Norfolk Academy graduate to root for.
Griff Aldrich '92 has been named a finalist for the prestigious Skip Prosser Man of the Year award. This award honors those who achieve success on the basketball court and display moral integrity off the court. The winner will be announced in late March in Houston, the site of the men's NCAA Basketball Championship.
Aldrich has been the head men's basketball coach at Longwood University for five seasons. The Lancers have improved dramatically in that time, posting back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time in program history in 2021-22 and 2022-23. The team made the men's tournament in 2022.
Aldrich's personal journey has drawn national acclaim. A former attorney who once worked at the top rungs of the corporate ladder, he moved into coaching as a calling to teach and develop young people.
