Norfolk Academy's varsity field hockey team capped a most impressive season by winning the VISAA state championship!
The Bulldogs defeated Collegiate School of Richmond 4-3 in the VISAA Division I final on November 11. The win completed a 23-0 season, which included victories over some of the nation's top programs. At points during the season, NA was ranked first in the nation by some publications.
During the postseason, playing against the top teams in the TCIS Conference and the state, NA outscored its opponents 58-3.
The state title is the fifth for NA's field hockey program. The Bulldogs previously won in 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2021.
Field hockey was hardly the only NA team to enjoy success this fall.
- Girls tennis finished second in the state, advancing all the way to the VISAA Division I state final
- Boys soccer advanced to the state semifinals
- Girls cross country earned fourth place at its state meet
- Boys soccer, field hockey, football, girls cross country, and girls tennis all won TCIS postseason championships
