Congratulations to Simon Fink '08, whose directorial debut will be screened Sunday, November 24, at the Naro theater!
Mr. Fink's film, Where We Disappear, tells the story of a woman's first night in a Soviet prison camp. It's a survival story that connects his interests in world history and activism, he told The Virginian-Pilot.
As a student at Norfolk Academy, Mr. Fink spent time helping different communities, he said in the Pilot article.
“I sat at the feet of Holocaust survivors and I worked with the local Lost Boys from Sudan," he said. "Whenever I heard their stories, I felt the need to share them and to bring the deepest core strengths and struggles within our nature to light.”
Mr. Fink will answer questions after the screening. The entire program begins at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, November 24, at the Naro Expanded Cinema, 1507 Colley Ave., Norfolk.
