Norfolk Academy students gave up part of their spring break to show off their great debate skills.

The Debate Team and Teacher-Coach Austin Dunn traveled north for the Richmond Debate Institute's In-Person Tournament, which included debaters from across the commonwealth. Virginia's largest speech and debate organization, RDI led the tournament, which was held March 9 at Virginia Commonwealth University. The event lasted from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Ann Gray '24 earned first place in the spoken word category, while Zoë '24 and Lidia '25 earned second place in the public forum category. Zachary '25 and Jay '26 earned fourth place in public forum.
