Congratulations to David Smythe '22, who was honored as a finalist for the Student-Athlete Achievement Award that will be presented February 6 by the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame!

Only 16 seniors from across the commonwealth were finalists, selected from a pool of more than 100 nominations. The honorees perform well academically, athletically, and make an impact in their communities.

David plays football, basketball, and lacrosse for Norfolk Academy and is an EDI Fellow in the Batten Leadership Program. He was named a Commended Student in 2021 by the National Merit Scholarship Program. He's also actively involved in community engagement at school, including helping lead the Special Olympics Club this year.
