Friday, February 19 was a bright, sunshiny day around Norfolk Academy, as the school Dance Team premiered its winter production!
Dance Master Elbert Watson directed the show, titled It's Gonna Be A Bright, Sunshiny Day. It includes six songs and lasts slightly less than 30 minutes.
Eleven students, ranging from seventh through 12th grades, worked hard as dancers over the course of this winter season, which ran from December until February. In addition, four students worked on lights and film.
Dance Instructor Suzy Gunn '01 served as assistant director for the show. Director of Audio Visual Services Rob Fleenor served as production director.
Because crowds are not allowed in Johnson Theater this school year, in the midst of the worldwide pandemic, Fine Arts productions are being performed virtually. After months of practices, the show was filmed in the theater over the course of a few weeks before being edited.
The show can be watched on Norfolk Academy's website at any time. A playbill and behind the scenes photos are also available.
Great job to everyone involved!
