Bulldog Student-Athletes Earn State Championships In Winter Sports

Three Norfolk Academy student-athletes earned individual VISAA state championships during winter season.

Wrestler Matteo De Filippo '28 earned gold in the 138-pound division on February 14. He also was named the tournament Outstanding Wrestler among all lighter weights. Also a TCIS champion, his impressive showing earned him a spot in the National Prep Qualifier. 

Adaline Scott '26 won gold in the girls 55-meter hurdles at the indoor track championships, which were held in Virginia Beach on February 12. She previously was the overall MVP on the girls side at the TCIS Championships. 

Taylor Kulow '27 won two state titles at the indoor track meet, in girls high jump and girls long jump. She was the Field Events Performer of the Meet, helping the Bulldogs take third place overall. She previously was overall MVP at the LIS event and Field Events MVP for the TCIS. 

Congratulations to these three Bulldogs!

In addition, several other student-athletes earned medals during winter season. They will be celebrated at an assembly in late February.
