An annual spring joy: Norfolk Academy's friends from Germany are here!

Fifteen students and two teachers from Copernicus-Gymnasium school are enjoying their visit, which includes trips to Washington D.C., North Carolina's Outer Banks, Virginia Beach, and New York City. They're also attending NA classes and living with our host families, which is a terrific learning experience for both groups.

This is the 53rd year of our partnership with Copernicus-Gymnasium, which is in northwestern Germany. The group arrived March 14, after the tour of Washington. They depart Norfolk for New York City on March 27, heading back to Germany at the end of the month.

The German Exchange is just one part of a robust foreign exchange program at Norfolk Academy. Exchanges also exist with schools from France and Spain.
