Alana Davitt ’15 was in the spotlight at Harvard University, when she graduated this spring with an A.B. in engineering sciences (mechanical and materials science) and participated in the ROTC Commissioning Ceremony at Tercentenary Theater on the Harvard campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts. An article in The Harvard Gazette, headlined “Shining Moments from Harvard’s Commencement,” featured two photos of Alana; in one, she is pictured with her father, Al Davitt, who administered the oath of office in the ceremony. Alana, now officially an Ensign in the Navy, is moving to Charleston, South Carolina this summer to begin Nuclear Power School and start her career as a submariner.
“As I’ve had time to reflect on my education after graduation, I’m confident my time spent at Norfolk Academy had just as much an impact on my growth as a citizen and scholar as my time at Harvard,” she noted. “I’m forever grateful for the lasting relationships with NA students and faculty that continue to enrich my life.”
Congratulations on your graduation, Alana! We are proud of your service to our nation and wish you the best of luck!
