Congratulations to Sahil K. '31, our 2026 school Spelling Bee champion!
Sahil topped an outstanding group on Friday afternoon, January 9, needing 26 rounds to emerge. His winning word? Absorption.
In all the group spelled 98 words correctly, working their way through the entire Scripps list of official provided words. Grayson W. '32 took second place. Emma C. '32 was third.
Sahil qualifies for a regional Bee that'll take place in March. The national Bee is in the spring.
Sahil practices about 30 minutes each night, going through a long set of challenging words.
Sahil K., a seventh grader, won Norfolk Academy's 2026 Spelling Bee.
Eight competitors in the Bee combined to spell almost 100 words correctly.
