Awards

Seventh and eighth graders were honored with a series of annual awards during a Middle School Chapel on May 21.

Awards were announced for Latin, reading, and other categories.

LATIN AWARDS

Latin Award – Form I: Annual award to the student who has achieved proficiency in Latin through hard work, determination, and classroom citizenship. Hendrick Chen '29

Latin Award – Form II: Annual award to the student who has achieved proficiency in Latin through hard work, determination, and classroom citizenship. Rohith Konduri '28

BATTEN READER AWARDS

Given to the student who has read the most books from the Batten Library collection in the 2023-24 school year.

7th Grade – Isabella Haney '29 (66 books)

8th Grade – Teaghan Brown '28 (55 books)

FRIENDS OF THE NORFOLK PUBLIC LIBRARY ANNUAL BOOK REVIEW CONTEST

Drew more than 1,400 entries in grades 4-12 from across the city’s public and private schools. The contest emphasizes critical thinking and creative writing skills.

General Douglas MacArthur Award: Annual award to the boy in Form I who has made the wisest use of his time during the school year. Pete Call '29
