How long have you been at Norfolk Academy?
This is my fourth year at Norfolk Academy, but it is my first teaching PE. I was previously the Director of The Academy Fund.

Tell us why you wanted to become an educator:
After working at NA for three years in the Development Office, I knew I wanted to be more involved in the school day and have more interaction with students other than just the baseball players.

What most excites you about working at Norfolk Academy?
I am very excited to be a part of such a prestigious school and have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students through teaching and coaching.

Norfolk Academy is unique because…
...the number of opportunities that the students have is boundless. There are so many activities, from the arts and athletics to International Programs and the various enrichment programs.

What do you like to do in your own time/when you’re not working?
Spending time with my family. We love swimming, going to the beach, and going for walks and bike rides.

Last book read:
Mind Gym by Gary Mack. I have read this book several times, but I love learning about the mental side of sports performance.
Favorite food?

A movie is being made about your life. Whom would they cast to play you?
Danny McBride. He already played Kenny Powers, a former professional baseball player turned PE teacher, so it wouldn’t be too tough.
Fun fact your students might not know about you/might find surprising:
I was born in Hawaii.

“When I grow up, I want to be…”
...playing a lot of golf
