How long have you been at Norfolk Academy?
I have been at Norfolk Academy for 31 years.

Tell us why you wanted to become an educator:
I want to motivate students to develop communication skills that enable them to make a positive change in the world.

What most excites you about working at Norfolk Academy?  
When seniors are accepted into colleges where they will thrive and when my students become stronger writers, more frequent seminar participants, deeper interpreters of literature, and more principled, empathetic young people

Currently, The Genius of Birds by Jennifer Ackerman and The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration by Isabel Wilkerson.

What do you like to do in your own time/when you’re not working?  
Organic gardening, yoga, birdwatching, reading, Swedish embroidery, knitting, and playing with my granddog Layla

Italian, Indian

My daughter has worked on an organic farm for almost three years.
