Brian Peccie '16 Wins NCAA Div. 3 Men's Golf Championship

Brian Peccie '16, a sophomore at Washington and Lee, won the Division 3 Men' Golf Championship on Friday, May 18 in an exciting three-hole playoff finish at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C.

Peccie shot 71, 69, 69, 76 (-3), ending the fourth round tied for first with Logan Young of Concordia University in Texas, which sent the championship into playoff holes.

The Washington and Lee Generals held onto second-place, which was the position that the team held at the start of the fourth round, behind Methodist University of Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Peccie carded a -3 round of 69 on Thursday and sat at -7 through three rounds. He registered five birdies and two bogies in his third round. Peccie's score of 71-69-69—209 was three strokes better than Levi Grogan of Greensboro, who dropped in the rankings during Friday's final round. Peccie carded a +4 round of 76 on Friday, and Young (72-69-73) had a -1 round of 71, which sent the championship to the playoff duel.
