Sophomore Mark Williams, Recruited by Div. 1 Basketball Programs, is Featured in The Virginian-Pilot

Even during his Lower School years, Mark Williams ’20 was taller than nearly all of his classmates. He grew quite accustomed to getting noticed for his distinct height advantage.

Now, as a 6-foot-11 power forward for the Bulldogs, Mark Williams ’20 is getting noticed around the nation. He has nine scholarship offers, including those from Clemson, Georgetown, LSU, Oklahoma State and Virginia Tech.

Last week, Williams scored 31 points, with 10 rebounds and eight blocked shots, to help lead Norfolk Academy to a dramatic come-from-behind victory over Norfolk Collegiate. His sister, Elizabeth, who played basketball at Duke and now plays for the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream, sat courtside in Burroughs gymnasium to cheer him on.
