Nine Girls' Field Hockey Student-Athletes are Named to National Academic Squad
The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) earlier this week announced nine student-athletes from Norfolk Academy’s Girls’ Varsity Field Hockey team were named to the 2017 Keith Waldman – Optimal Performance Associates/NFHCA High School National Academic Squad.
To earn this honor, the National Academic Squad “recognizes those high school seniors and juniors who have achieved a minimum cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.50 out of 4.0 or the equivalent through the first quarter of the 2017-18 school year.”
More than 2,770 student-athletes from 344 high schools across the country have been named to the 2017 Keith Waldman – Optimal Performance Associates / NFHCA High School National Academic Squad. The 2017 honorees from NA include:

Halle Gill ’18
Braden McMahon ’18
In addition to this recognition, the group also acknowledges those students who have achieved a minimum cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.9 out of 4.0 or the equivalent through the first quarter of the 2017-18 school year. These students receive an additional title: Scholars of Distinction.
Over 850 student-athletes have received the Scholar of Distinction designation in 2017. NA student-athletes who have earned the 2017 Keith Waldman – Optimal Performance Associates/NFHCA High School National Academic Squad with Scholar of Distinction honors include:
