Middle School Students Host a Snackraiser to Benefit the Park Place School

Royster Middle School students looking to treat themselves to an afternoon snack from the Bookstore can also do some good for the community this week.
From January 29 through February 2, Middle and Upper School students have the opportunity to donate a snack from the Bookstore to benefit students at the Park Place School, an elementary school with grades 2 – 6 located in Norfolk.
Mrs. Aimee Phillips, director of the Park Place School, visited campus and spoke to Middle School students about Norfolk Academy’s partnership with Park Place School during yesterday’s chapel.
As part of that partnership, a group of NA eighth graders plans to visit the school once a week in January and February, and it is expected that some seventh graders will also travel to the school in March and April. Students from the Park Place School will come to NA in February for pizza and a viewing of Seussical.
In addition to the snacks selected and donated by students, proceeds from the snack and beverage items purchased at this time will also “go toward purchasing healthy snacks, such as clementines and cheese sticks, for the Park Place students,” said Mrs. Kitty Signorelli, Bookstore manager. The Middle School intends to host another week-long drive in April to benefit the Park Place School.
Stop by the Bookstore this week to donate a snack or funds to help out this deserving school in our Hampton Roads community!
