How long have you been at Norfolk Academy?
This is my second year at Norfolk Academy.
Tell us why you wanted to become an educator:
I like that “a-ha!” moment when a student grasps something or can do something they couldn’t before.
What most excites you about working at Norfolk Academy?
I love the freedom to direct the curriculum with my fifth grade team in a way that best helps inspire students and helps them learn.
Norfolk Academy is unique because...
...you get to have the best dining companions and conversation during lunch!
Last book read:
Nimona - it is a graphic novel by Noelle Stevenson. I am currently working on Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.
What do you like to do in your own time/when you’re not working?
I like biking with my family and playing music.
Fish (usually bluegill) I catch with my son (despite the bones).
A movie is being made about your life. Who would they cast to play you?
Elijah Wood - we both eat elevenses.
Fun fact your students might not know about you/might find surprising:
I was in ukulele club in third grade and still rock out on it when the spirit moves me.
“When I grow up, I want to be…”
