Norfolk Academy Field Day, established in 1891, is the longest standing community event at the school. Students, faculty, parents, grandparents, alumni, friends, and members of the community gather on campus for a day of family fun on the first Saturday in May.
All proceeds from Field Day raise money for need-based financial aid and programs that directly enhance the educational experience for all students.
Field Day is a team effort with over 30 volunteer committees working together to create a day of fun and philanthropy. Activities include a Fun Run, faculty-student kickball game, Live @ the Pit, 3rd Grade play, Midway games and rides, LOTS of shopping to include the Bulldog Bazaar, Marketplace, Class Baskets, Art Gallery, Antiques & Adornments, Love & Elbow, delicious food, the family raffle, and much more. Field Day is a fantastic tradition thanks to the many volunteers - parents, alumni, grandparents, students, and friends - who participate! If you are interested in joining a Field Day committee in the spring or would like to volunteer on Field Day this year, May 2, 2020, please let us know! Field Day volunteer Co-chairs, Jennifer Holland and Holli Wachtmeister, along with Norfolk Academy's Field Day Coordinator, Nene Dougherty, are already hard at work planning the school's largest community event of the year.
Donate your gently-used items to Field Day. Furniture, artwork, home accessories, books, clothes in mint condition, surfboards, sports gear, and more are appreciated. Your tax-deductible donations support Norfolk Academy! Contact Kelly Becker, beginning in January 2020, to schedule a pick up of larger items.
